247 Watch Prayer (17.11.2024-23.11.2024)

Dear Heavenly Father: Your child _____ (own name), by the blood of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit, come to Your throne of grace, to receive You abundant grace and mercy. Lord Jesus, _____ (own name) acknowledge that You are the Lord of my life. I pray for the life-resurrection power of the Holy Spirit to saturate every part of my life. My soul body is completely surrendered to You. Now, I ask You to enlighten me and reveal to me of all my known or hidden sins, so that I may confess and repent before You. (Suggestion: Be quiet and let the Holy Spirit illuminate you)

I pray for the blood of the Lord Jesus to cleanse me again from all the filth from the world and cleanse me and my family from any unrighteousness. I also use my will to choose to forgive everyone who has sinned against and hurt me, releasing them into the freedom of my forgiveness and stop chasing the debts they owe me. I also unload all the burdens of my life to You, thank you for carrying my burdens every day. The burden You have given me is light, and the yoke is easy. I now also put on the full armour of God, the girdle of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the helmet of salvation, the shield of faith, the sword of the Holy Spirit, the shoes of the gospel of peace, so that I may trust in the power of Your might, praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and I may be able to stand my ground, and after I have done everything, to stand. I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ! Amen!

(1) Prayer matters for the country

1 To enter destiny-gratitude and self-purification

(1) Give thanks
Isaiah 58:10 and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry
and satisfy the needs of the oppressed,
then your light will rise in the darkness,
and your night will become like the noonday.
2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

On November 12, Prime Minister Christopher Luxon officially represented the government in Parliament and apologised to all people who have suffered abuse, harm and neglect in government or religious care facilities. Many survivors have been waiting for more than half a century.
We express our gratitude to the government for its willingness to humbly admit its mistakes, and pray for the Lord’s healing and forgiveness to come to our country and land.

(2) Self-purification and repentance
Micah 2:7b-10 “Do not my words do good
to the one whose ways are upright?
Lately my people have risen up
    like an enemy.
You strip off the rich robe
from those who pass by without a care,
    like men returning from battle.
You drive the women of my people
    from their pleasant homes.
You take away my blessing
    from their children forever.
Get up, go away!
For this is not your resting place,
because it is defiled,
it is ruined, beyond all remedy.

From 1950 to 2019, a total of 655,000 children, young people and adults in New Zealand entered various care systems, of which 200,000 were abused (sexual abuse being the most common case). Some people are more harmed because of their identity and race, such as Maori, Pacific Islanders, deaf people and people with disabilities. Among them, Maori and Pacific Islander children are forced to be separated from their families, resulting in a disconnect in language and culture.
We confess and repent to God for the abuse and harm that has occurred in government and religious care institutions over the past nearly 70 years, especially the harm caused by church care institutions, which has brought dishonour to the name of the Lord. Pray that the government and religious care institutions will formally apologise, acknowledge the abuse, provide support to survivors, and “make every effort” to prevent future abuse so that this land will no longer be defiled and destroyed.

2. For kings and those in authority
Psalm 47:8-9 God reigns over the nations;
God is seated on his holy throne.
The nobles of the nations assemble
as the people of the God of Abraham,
for the kings of the earth belong to God;
    he is greatly exalted.
Proverbs 29:2 When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice;    when the wicked rule, the people groan.

Pray for God to help our heads of government, administration, judiciary, and members of Parliament to govern New Zealand with integrity and fairness, so that this land can walk in the peace and joy given by our Creator. Pray that God will raise up more people to stand watch and pray, so that the hearts of those in power and leaders will be willing to accept the salvation of Jesus and the laws of the kingdom of God.

(2) For the people of this land – Maori and non-Maori relations
Micah 6:8 He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.

The Maori movement “Hīkoi mō te Tiriti” (Taking to the Streets) kicked off on November 11 in Cape Reinga, the northernmost tip of New Zealand. The motorcade and parade will carry out a nine-day national parade and will be held on November 19 Arrive at the Bee Hive in Wellington to express disagreement with the Government in person on the Treaty Principles Bill.
Pray for ethnic relations: Thank God that through this parliamentary discussion of the Treaty Principles Bill, different ethnic groups have more opportunities to participate in the political field of the national constitution. Ask the Lord to help this country, which is composed of Maori, Pākehā and various ethnic groups, to put aside their racial prejudices and selfish struggles, receive the Holy Spirit and receive salvation, live a life of self-denial and tolerance, and tear down the dividing wall in the middle. May God’s justice and mercy walk among us, and may all ethnic groups experience transformation and renewal in their lives, and may each other become a blessing to New Zealand.

(3) Pray for the church:
I know all the things you do, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other! But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth! You say, ‘I am rich. I have everything I want. I don’t need a thing!’ And you don’t realise that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked. (Revelation 3:15-17 NLT)

Prayer: Pray for God to forgive us for measuring ourselves by worldly standards and thinking that we are rich, but in the eyes of God we are poor and pitiful. Ask the Lord to send down the blazing fire of the Holy Spirit to burn away all the lukewarmness, complacency and blindness in our hearts, enter into the presence of God, know the preciousness of the Lord, and love Jesus passionately.

(4) For Israel and other nations

1.For Israel
Are we not all children of the same Father? Are we not all created by the same God? Then why do we betray each other, violating the covenant of our ancestors? (Malachi 2:10 NLT)

Pray for unity within Israel. Pray for God to forgive and heal the deep divisions that have existed for so long among all levels of society, across political lines and governments. Pray for God to make the people of Israel realise their sins, forgive each other and love each other, and put an end to the hostility and hatred between the people and the government. Ask God to raise up political leaders who can lead the country into God’s heart.

2. Pray for China:
Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him.
Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:
“Now have come the salvation and the power    and the kingdom of our God,    and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters,    who accuses them before our God day and night,    has been hurled down.
(Revelation 12:7-10)

Pray for China: Pray that God will use the Chinese church to be a good witness for the Lord in the last days, transform people’s hearts, abandon the worship of Confucian and Taoist idols and the worship of dragons, and turn to longing for the one true God.
