247 Watch Prayers (22.06.2025-28.06.2025)
(I) Intercession for the Nation
Entering into Destiny – Thanksgiving and Purification
(1) Offering Thanksgiving:
2 Chronicles 32:7-8 “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or dismayed because of the king of Assyria and the multitude that is with him, for there are more with us than with him. With him is an arm of flesh, but with us is the LORD our God, to help us and to fight our battles.” The people rested in the words of King Hezekiah of Judah and were not afraid.
As the global economy faces difficulties due to political, commercial, climate change, and war factors, many companies, businesses, and people are gripped by fear and panic. We thank God for His promise: “With us is the LORD our God, He will help us and fight our battles.” Therefore, we can rest in His words and be free from fear.
(2) Purification and Repentance:
Lamentations 2:19 “Arise, cry out in the night, at the beginning of the watches; pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord. Lift your hands toward Him for the life of your young children, who faint from hunger at the head of every street.”
We pray for forgiveness for not being diligent in praying for the salvation and spiritual growth of our children. Instead, we have focused too much on their academic performance and material conditions, neglecting our responsibility as parents to establish true, loving relationships and to care for their spiritual growth.
For Kings and All in Authority:
Isaiah 9:6-7 “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.”
On June 18, Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and his delegation arrived in Shanghai, marking the first visit to China since his appointment. This trip is officially focused on trade, education, and tourism, but underlying issues like diplomacy, national security and positioning are also emerging.
We ask the Lord to protect and guide the Prime Minister and his trade delegation, as they deepen cooperation in trade, education and tourism with China. May they reach agreements that are in alignment with God’s will and bring blessings to both nations’ people.
(II) For All People in This Land
Psalms 121:7-8 “The LORD will keep you from all evil; He will keep your soul. The LORD will preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore.”
A recently released report shows that while traffic violations among young drivers in New Zealand have decreased year by year, the traffic death rate for young people remains high compared to other OECD countries.
We pray for the safety of young road users: May the Lord guard their thoughts and intentions, help them remain cautious, focused, emotionally stable, and respectful of one another. We pray for wisdom to help the government develop effective driving test procedures and raise awareness of safe driving among young people. May suitable traffic regulations be made to ensure the safety of all and compliance with traffic laws.
(III) For the Church
2 Timothy 2:2 “And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”
Paul instructed Timothy to “entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others,” emphasizing the importance of discipleship and the transmission of truth. We ask the Lord to help us value the learning of truth and actively cultivate those who are faithful and able to teach others. May the faith and truth continue from generation to generation.
(IV) For Israel and the Nations
For Israel:
Isaiah 43:15-17 I am the Lord, your Holy One, Israel’s Creator, your King.”This is what the Lord says—he who made a way through the sea, a path through the mighty waters, who drew out the chariots and horses, the army and reinforcements together, and they lay there, never to rise again, extinguished, snuffed out like a wick:
On June 13, Israel launched a large-scale airstrike on multiple targets in Iran, killing Revolutionary Guard commanders and nuclear scientists, with reports of civilian casualties. Iran has retaliated by firing over 100 drones at Israel. Both countries are now in a state of emergency, and the international community is closely watching the escalating situation in the Middle East.
We pray for Israel and Iran, asking the Lord Jesus Christ to bring mercy and peace to the Middle East, to cease all violence, hatred, and conflict. May God’s salvation reach both nations, and may they seek justice and peace while turning away from nuclear weapons and violent schemes. We pray for the innocent people of both countries, asking for God’s mercy, healing, comfort, and protection for those affected by the conflict. Pray also for strength and support for the local churches and believers, that they may be a source of encouragement and strength during this turmoil, experiencing Christ’s love and hope.
For Youth Violence in European and American Campuses:
Psalms 90:12 “So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”
Psalms 31:15-16 My times are in your hands; deliver me from the hands of my enemies, from those who pursue me. Let your face shine on your servant; save me in your unfailing love.
A recent global prosperity study revealed that young people aged 18-24 report the lowest levels of happiness, health, purpose, relationships, and financial security among all age groups. As the sense of happiness declines and young people lose their sense of purpose and hope, this psychological condition has led to a rise in campus violence in Europe, with younger ages committing crimes, such as the shooting at a high school in Austria on June 10 that killed 11 people and the stabbing of a teaching assistant by a 14-year-old student in France.
We cry out to the Lord for the increasing violence in European and American campuses. We pray for mercy on the schools and families in Austria, France, and other places suffering from violence in June. Heal the hearts of those traumatized and wounded by fear. We also pray that God will protect the minds and hearts of this generation of young people, preventing them from being consumed by despair, isolation, and a sense of powerlessness. We ask the Lord to raise up the Church and society to establish safe and loving environments for the growth of youth.
