247 Watch Prayer (25.05.2025-31.05.2025)
(1) Matters of prayer for the nation
-
- To enter destiny—gratitude and self-purification
- Give thanks
- To enter destiny—gratitude and self-purification
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.(Romans 8:38-39)
Thank you, God who created the universe, for loving us so deeply that You gave us Your beloved Son Jesus, so that we are no longer separated from You and can restore our intimate relationship with You.

- Cleanse yourself and repent
-
Aware of their discussion, Jesus asked them: “Why are you talking about having no bread? Do you still not see or understand? Are your hearts hardened? (Mark 8:17)
May the Lord forgive the foolishness of our hearts. Even though we have experienced much of the grace and power of the Lord Jesus, the Lord’s truth has not penetrated deeply into our minds and thoughts. Our hearts are like dry, hard fields, and the needed rainwater flows away without ever penetrating the soil.
May the Lord grant us healthy hearts that can absorb God’s words, be plowed by faith, and cultivated by trust, so that they become hearts that long for the Lord.

- For kings and those in power
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. (Proverbs 9:10)
When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan. (Proverbs 29:2)
May the Lord have mercy on those in authority who do not believe in Him, so that they may have the opportunity to come into contact with the gospel. God’s people should not forget to always pray for the salvation of those in authority. May they know God and turn to God, and govern the country with God’s wisdom, fairness, and justice, so that the people can live in peace and tranquility.
(ii) Intercession for all the peoples of the land
(2 Peter 3:9) The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
Let us pray earnestly for the salvation of the souls of unreached people groups throughout the earth. Thank the Lord for His tolerance and love. He does not want anyone to perish, but wants everyone to come to repentance. But in this age when the end of the world is approaching, we see that there are still many people who do not know the Lord. They are experiencing all kinds of illnesses, pains, sadness and despair. We pray that the Lord will personally heal and have mercy on them, and comfort their hearts, so that they will understand that the Lord Jesus is the Lord of salvation, and that only in Him can they have hope for eternal life.
3. Pray for the Church
(2 Timothy 4:2) Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.
Preaching the gospel is one of the great missions the Lord has given us. May the Lord use us to have a burden and passion for the unbelievers around us. Regardless of whether the opportunity is good or not, we must preach the gospel and devote ourselves wholeheartedly and do our best. May the Lord give us more love and patience to treat non-believers, so that they can feel the Lord’s love, and may He give us wisdom to exhort, remind and encourage them according to their circumstances. Pray that the Lord will use every church to become a beacon in the community and an outlet for the gospel.
4. Pray for Israel and other nations
- For Israel
(Isaiah 30:18-19) Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him! People of Zion, who live in Jerusalem, you will weep no more. How gracious he will be when you cry for help! As soon as he hears, he will answer you.
Due to the failure to reach a ceasefire agreement with Hamas, as well as ineffective operations against the Houthi armed forces and problems with humanitarian aid, the international community has increased pressure on Israel, demanding that it end the war in Gaza as soon as possible, otherwise it may stop aid.
Prayer: Pray for the Lord to show mercy to Israel and release the hostages as soon as possible. Pray that the Lord will reign in Israel and in the international community, and raise up leaders who will speak for Him. May the Lord’s will be done in Israel.
- For the nations – Japan
(2 Kings 7:1) Elisha replied, “Hear the word of the Lord. This is what the Lord says: About this time tomorrow, a seah of the finest flour will sell for a shekel and two seahs of barley for a shekel at the gate of Samaria.”
Recently, the average price of 1 kilogram of Japanese rice exceeded 853 yen (about 10 New Zealand dollars), which is more than double the same period last year and the highest level since the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan began to collect such data.
Pray: Pray for the Lord to have mercy on the food needs of the Japanese people and raise up godly leaders to manage the food supply problem. Pray that God will open the eyes of the Japanese people so that they can know Jesus Christ, receive salvation, and trust in God’s sovereignty in Japan.
