24/7 Watch Prayer (21.02.2021-27.02.2021)
——Intercession for the country
1. Enter into destiny – gratitude and self-cleansing
(1) Give thanks:
[Deuteronomy 11:11-12] But the land you are crossing the Jordan to take possession of is a land of mountains and valleys that drinks rain from heaven. It is a land the Lord your God cares for; the eyes of the Lord your God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end.
Thank God for giving us this land with mountains and valleys that drinks rain from heaven. In the past week, the rain fell, and the epidemic was kept under control. Thank God for his protection and care.
(2) Self-cleaning and repentance:
[Romans 1:21, 28-31] For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.
Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy.
Repent for our values and ideology that deviate from God’s way, for straying away from repentance, and ask the Lord to save us from evil and injustice.
2. For kings and those in positions of authority – education
[Leviticus 18:3-5] You must not do as they do in Egypt, where you used to live, and you must not do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you. Do not follow their practices. You must obey my laws and be careful to follow my decrees. I am the Lord your God. Keep my decrees and laws, for the person who obeys them will live by them. I am the Lord.
Pray for New Zealand’s education system, national curriculum, and campus culture. Pray for the holy and righteous Lord to intervene with great power, exercise judgment, and correct all curriculum content that does not conform to God’s will. Pray that the Lord will raise up more educators who love the Lord to enter elementary schools, middle schools, and universities, and bring God’s justice, truth and holiness into every school in New Zealand.
——Pray for the people of this land
[Acts 10:28] He said to them: “You are well aware that it is against our law for a Jew to associate with or visit a Gentile. But God has shown me that I should not call anyone impure or unclean.
[Acts 10:34-35] Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right.
According to the report of the Human Rights Committee, the epidemic has contributed to racial discrimination in the New Zealand community. Four in ten respondents (39%) reported that they have suffered discrimination since the outbreak began.
Prayer: Lord, every nation is made for you and loved by you. In this multi-national and multi-ethnic migrant country, please have mercy on the people of this place, let salvation enter into the hearts of the people, into all ethnic groups and communities. Let love remove fear, let peace replace panic, let joy replace sadness, let respect replace discrimination, let mutual support replace indifference.
——Pray for the church
[Acts 20:28] Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood
[1 Thessalonians 5:12-13] Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to acknowledge those who work hard among you, who care for you in the Lord and who admonish you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other.
Pray for God to give the pastors the spirit of wisdom and revelation. In the current epidemic, pastors will lead the church to face many changes and adjustments. Pray for the blessing of the pastors and church leaders so that they can abundantly experience God, and not tire on the road of their ministry. I also ask the Lord to let the brothers and sisters of the church learn to respect the pastors/leaders more, respect them with love, and be in harmony with each other.
——Pray for Israel and the nations
1. For Israel:
For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent,
for Jerusalem’s sake I will not remain quiet,
till her vindication shines out like the dawn,
her salvation like a blazing torch.
The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed,
a stronghold in times of trouble.
Israel is currently advancing its vaccination efforts at a rate of 200,000 people per day and is expected to basically complete the national immunization program by the end of March. The world is also paying attention to the efficacy of the Israeli vaccine and various scientific results.
Prayer: Thank the Lord for such great progress in Israel’s pandemic prevention. I also pray that the Lord will continue to use the people of Israel, and make continuous contributions to the people of the world in the fight against the pandemic in scientific medicine and various research and development.
2. For the nations
[Psalm 31: 15] My times are in your hands;
deliver me from the hands of my enemies,
from those who pursue me.
The global Christian persecution monitoring organization “Open Doors” announced the 2019 “World Watch List”, pointing out that the situation of Christians in North Korea, India, China and other Asian countries is worrying.
Prayer: Pray for the top ten countries that are currently the worst for the survival of Christians. They are North Korea, Afghanistan, Somalia, Libya, Pakistan, Sudan, Eritrea, Yemen, Iran and India. May the Lord save and protect the churches, and may salvation come to these countries.
