247 Watch Prayer (01.10.2023-07.10.2023)

Dear Heavenly Father: Your child _____ (own name), by the blood of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit, come to Your throne of grace, to receive You abundant grace and mercy. Lord Jesus, _____ (own name) acknowledge that You are the Lord of my life. I pray for the life-resurrection power of the Holy Spirit to saturate every part of my life. My soul body is completely surrendered to You. Now, I ask You to enlighten me and reveal to me of all my known or hidden sins, so that I may confess and repent before You. (Suggestion: Be quiet and let the Holy Spirit illuminate you)

I pray for the blood of the Lord Jesus to cleanse me again from all the filth from the world and cleanse me and my family from any unrighteousness. I also use my will to choose to forgive everyone who has sinned against and hurt me, releasing them into the freedom of my forgiveness and stop chasing the debts they owe me. I also unload all the burdens of my life to You, thank you for carrying my burdens every day. The burden You have given me is light, and the yoke is easy. I now also put on the full armour of God, the girdle of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the helmet of salvation, the shield of faith, the sword of the Holy Spirit, the shoes of the gospel of peace, so that I may trust in the power of Your might, praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and I may be able to stand my ground, and after I have done everything, to stand. I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ! Amen!

(1) Prayer matters for the country
1. To enter destiny—gratitude and self-purification

(1) Give thanks
(Psalm 103:1-4) Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion

Thank God for choosing us in Jesus Christ before the creation of the world, giving us salvation, bringing us out of darkness into light, healing our past pain, and setting us free in love. Thank you for the Holy Spirit’s illumination and guidance, which helps us renew our minds and live a life that glorifies God and benefits others.

(2) Self-purification and repentance
(1 John 2:15-17) Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.

Pray to God for forgiveness, for on the one hand, we pray to God that we are separate and different from the world and do not follow the example of this world; on the other hand, we are worried about not fitting in and being alienated, shaking our resolve.
Ask God to forgive our weaknesses, give us strength and courage, and help us to act according to God’s fairness and righteousness among others, and to become people who influence others instead of being assimilated by the world. Pray for God to give us wisdom to be like You and attract more people to turn to you.

2 For kings and those in authority
(1 Timothy 2:1-4) I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

October 2 to 14 is voting day in New Zealand. Pray for God to show favour to New Zealand and select, support, and establish leaders who fear God and are in line with God’s will to govern the country. May the new leaders act justly and love mercy, and lead the people on a path blessed by God.

(2) Intercede for all the peoples of this land
(Micah 6:8) He has shown you, O mortal, what is good.
And what does the Lord require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.

Cry out for the voters of New Zealand. Pray for the Lord to awaken the awareness of the people of the entire country to care about public affairs and actively participate in voting. Elect political parties and members of parliament who are in line with God’s heart to lead the country’s future direction.
Family First produced the Value Your Vote handbook, which clearly explains the political opinions of each political party and candidate, as well as the policies they have participated in formulating. Pray that the Lord will spread the information in this manual widely and use it to help voters make wise decisions about voting for [party votes] and members of parliament [MP votes].

(3) Pray for the church
(Revelation 2:2-5) I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked people, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. You have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary.
Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.

On October 20-21, Pastor Donald Young will come to New Zealand to hold a conference. May the Lord move all the pastors, brothers and sisters to gather together again to cry out together, experience breakthroughs and renewal, and ignite the enthusiasm of all churches to pray to the Lord.

(4) Pray for Israel and all nations
1. For Israel
Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come;the reality, however, is found in Christ. (Colossians 2:16-17)

But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. (2 Corinthians 3:14)

May the Lord have mercy on the Jewish people, whose hearts are still hard and blinded, and do not realise that the Messiah is Jesus. Pray for the Lord to raise up more churches to preach the gospel of Christ to the Jews, so that they will understand that Jesus has completely fulfilled the law, prophetic prophecies, and revelations, and that He is the Messiah.

2. For the nations
Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should. (Ephesians 6:19-20)

Pray for missionaries from all over the world: Pray that the Lord will protect the missionaries’ footsteps of service, that the mission field will be safe, that the door to the gospel will continue to be open, and that the church will be spiritually united.
