247 Watch Prayer (09.02.2024 – 15.02.2025)
Dear Heavenly Father: Your child _____ (own name), by the blood of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit, come to Your throne of grace, to receive You abundant grace and mercy. Lord Jesus, _____ (own name) acknowledge that You are the Lord of my life. I pray for the life-resurrection power of the Holy Spirit to saturate every part of my life. My soul body is completely surrendered to You. Now, I ask You to enlighten me and reveal to me of all my known or hidden sins, so that I may confess and repent before You. (Suggestion: Be quiet and let the Holy Spirit illuminate you)
I pray for the blood of the Lord Jesus to cleanse me again from all the filth from the world and cleanse me and my family from any unrighteousness. I also use my will to choose to forgive everyone who has sinned against and hurt me, releasing them into the freedom of my forgiveness and stop chasing the debts they owe me. I also unload all the burdens of my life to You, thank you for carrying my burdens every day. The burden You have given me is light, and the yoke is easy. I now also put on the full armour of God, the girdle of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the helmet of salvation, the shield of faith, the sword of the Holy Spirit, the shoes of the gospel of peace, so that I may trust in the power of Your might, praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and I may be able to stand my ground, and after I have done everything, to stand. I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ! Amen!
1. Matters for prayer for the nation
1. To enter into destiny — gratitude and self-purification
1) Give thanks
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,
the people he chose for his inheritance. (Psalm 33:12)
I will praise God’s name in song
and glorify him with thanksgiving. (Psalm 69:30)
Give thanks to the Lord for New Zealand because there is no country on earth that tells every citizen clearly through its national anthem: “God defend New Zealand.” Thank God for giving us such a beautiful country, rich with resources and for recognizing New Zealand as a kingdom belonging to God, with Jehovah as its God when the country was founded.
(2) Self-purification and repentance
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord. (Acts 3:19)
May the Lord grant us the heart of Jeremiah and help us to confess and intercede for New Zealand according to Your will: for being indifferent to salvation, looking down on it with a secular perspective, and resisting the truth. May the Lord have grace and mercy, forgive the people’s corruption, and heal us so that we can replace our hearts of stone with hearts of flesh and restore our inner piety.
2. For kings and those in power
Endow the king with your justice, O God, the royal son with your righteousness.
May he judge your people in righteousness, your afflicted ones with justice.
May the mountains bring prosperity to the people, the hills the fruit of righteousness.
May he defend the afflicted among the people and save the children of the needy; may he crush the oppressor. (Psalm 72:1-4)
We pray that the Lord will have mercy on the kings of the earth and those who have the power to govern the country: May your salvation come upon them, so that their lives will be changed and they can walk into the truth and bring the truth into the country, so that they can judge the afflicted with righteousness, rescue the poor, and bring down God’s fairness and justice in the kingdom of man.
2. For the People of the Land – Praying for the New School Year
So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. (Hebrews 10:35)
Commit your way to the Lord;
trust in him and he will do this: (Psalm 37:5)
Pray for every student of different ages and levels (including overseas students) in the new school year: May the Lord grant them courage, wisdom, intelligence and a humble and teachable heart so that they can face the learning challenges of the new school year.
May the Lord bless and help all students who are lost and lack confidence in their studies, so that they can come before God and pour out their hearts and entrust all their problems to the Lord.
3. Pray for the Church
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. (Ephesians 4:2-3)
May the Lord forgive us for not being humble enough in all things, not being gentle and considerate enough to our brothers and sisters, not being patient enough with our co-workers… allowing the evil one to take advantage of us. May the Lord grant us abundant love from God, so that we can understand and tolerate each other, because love can cover a multitude of sins. Pray that the Lord will grant peace to all service teams and different interpersonal networks so that we can serve together and strive to maintain the unity of heart given by the Holy Spirit, live out the testimony of love and glorify the Lord’s name!
4. For Israel and other nations
1. For Israel
Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
for his compassions never fail. (Lamentations 3:22)
He rules the world in righteousness
and judges the peoples with equity. (Psalm 9:8)
Pray that the Israeli government will make the right decision on the release of Palestinian prisoners and where to send them so that these prisoners can no longer harm Israel. Pray to the Lord to preserve the second and third phases of the ceasefire and hostage release agreement in Israel’s favor and prevent Hamas from rearming, rebuilding nor continuing to control Gaza during the ceasefire.
2. For the United States
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
After taking office, US President Trump implemented a series of administrative policies, such as imposing additional tariffs on Mexico, Canada and China, and US involvement in the Middle East… These will have varying degrees of impact.
May the Lord help President Trump to rely on the Lord every day, seek wisdom and intelligence from the Lord, walk in the right way, and acknowledge the Lord’s guidance in all domestic and foreign policies and governance.
