247 Watch Prayer (14.04.2024-20.04.2024)

Dear Heavenly Father: Your child _____ (own name), by the blood of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit, come to Your throne of grace, to receive You abundant grace and mercy. Lord Jesus, _____ (own name) acknowledge that You are the Lord of my life. I pray for the life-resurrection power of the Holy Spirit to saturate every part of my life. My soul body is completely surrendered to You. Now, I ask You to enlighten me and reveal to me of all my known or hidden sins, so that I may confess and repent before You. (Suggestion: Be quiet and let the Holy Spirit illuminate you)

I pray for the blood of the Lord Jesus to cleanse me again from all the filth from the world and cleanse me and my family from any unrighteousness. I also use my will to choose to forgive everyone who has sinned against and hurt me, releasing them into the freedom of my forgiveness and stop chasing the debts they owe me. I also unload all the burdens of my life to You, thank you for carrying my burdens every day. The burden You have given me is light, and the yoke is easy. I now also put on the full armour of God, the girdle of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the helmet of salvation, the shield of faith, the sword of the Holy Spirit, the shoes of the gospel of peace, so that I may trust in the power of Your might, praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and I may be able to stand my ground, and after I have done everything, to stand. I pray in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ! Amen!

(1) Prayer matters for the country

1. To enter your destiny──Thanksgiving and self-purification

(1) Give thanks:

Hab 3:17-19 Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.
The Sovereign Lord is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to tread on the heights.
Give thanks to God! Our happiness is not because of our need being met, a stable environment nor justice administered immediately, but because our God is a faithful God. Even if we are in adversity, He still gives us strength and is with us. We rejoice when we think about His salvation, and His promise that enables me to tread on the heights.

(2) Self-purification and repentance
1 Thessalonians 5:23 May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control your own body in a way that is holy and honourable, not in passionate lust like the pagans, who do not know God

In Australia and New Zealand, young people have grown up in an environment of casual dating, and most are not averse to meeting potential partners on apps and going on dates in bars or restaurants. A recent global sexual partner survey showed that the average person in the world has nine sexual partners in their lifetime. New Zealanders have an average of 13.2 sexual partners in their lifetime, ranking third in the world.
Pray for the Lord to forgive us for facing an era full of chaos, allowing us to be tainted by the immorality of the media and society, failing to keep our bodies holy, being open to sexual relationships, pursuing carnal pleasures, and failing to guard our bodies with holiness and honour.

2. For kings and those in authority

Proverbs 8:16-17 by me princes govern,
and nobles—all who rule on earth.
I love those who love me,
and those who seek me find me.
Psalm 90:16-17 May your deeds be shown to your servants,
your splendor to their children.
May the favour of the Lord our God rest on us;
establish the work of our hands for us—
yes, establish the work of our hands.
The government department has developed a series of plans to increase student attendance and improve writing and mathematics skills. For example: prohibiting students from using mobile phones in class, imposing penalties and attention on parents of students who are absent for a long time, and improving teacher training to improve student learning, etc.
May God bless the implementation of educational policies and guidelines formulated by the education department, and help parents value their children’s learning and attendance. May God grant wisdom and ability to front-line teaching educators to effectively manage classroom order and improve teaching quality.

(2) Intercede for all the peoples of this land

Colossians 1:28 He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ.
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”

Data for 2023 shows that 173,000 non-New Zealand citizens immigrated to New Zealand, which has brought huge pressure on New Zealand’s society, economy, housing, etc., and it also allows us to see the opportunity for the gospel. Many countries where the immigrants are from adopt a closed policy or are resistant to the gospel. They cannot easily be contacted by Christians nor hear the gospel. When these immigrants set foot in New Zealand, it is also our opportunity to preach the gospel to them.
Pray for new immigrants and those applying for work visas: Ask the Lord to work among these new immigrants, make it easier for them to be in contact with Christians, and give them a heart hungry for the gospel. Pray that the church’s gospel ministry can provide suitable services to new immigrants and help them integrate into local life more quickly in terms of pastoral care and relationships.

(3) Pray for the church

Ephesians 4:11-13, 16
So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

Pray for church building: Pray for the Lord to make us thirst for God’s word, obey God’s way with humility and obedience. Ask the Lord to give us the courage to accept challenges, value the gifts and talents God has given us, support each other, and build up the body of Christ.

(4) Pray for Israel and all nations

1. For Israel
Ephesians 2:14-15 For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace
Psalm 119:103-104 How sweet are your words to my taste,
sweeter than honey to my mouth!
I gain understanding from your precepts;
therefore I hate every wrong path.

Through Christ Jesus, we Gentiles and Israel have become one body, so we must especially pray for the salvation of the people of Israel. Many Jews today only believe in Rabbinic Judaism, and the Jewish scriptures they recite are not the entire Old Testament. As a result, they miss many prophecies about Christ Jesus in the Bible.
Prayer: Pray for the Lord to prevent the people of Israel from getting lost in the teachings of rabbinic Judaism, but to restore their faith centered on the study of the Old Testament. Pray for the Messiah Believers Church, and ask the Lord to bless and use the Messiah Believers Church to bear a beautiful testimony for the Lord.

2. For South Pacific island countries
Jude 20-21 But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

The Pacific island countries adjacent to New Zealand, such as Tonga, Samoa, and Fiji, although not economically wealthy, have many spiritually high proportions of Christians. Their simplicity and faith are pleasing to God, but at the same time there are many heretical teachings that are eroding the foundation of their gospel. On the other hand, the influence of secularisation has also caused many young people to gradually distance themselves from Christianity.
Pray that the Lord will revive the South Pacific island countries, give them the fire of the Holy Spirit to stir up their faith, rebuild the foundation of the church’s faith, experience true rebirth and faith building, and live out the life of Christ in life and work.
