247 Watch Prayer (26 October 2025 – 1 November 2025)

(1) Prayer for the Nation
1. Entering into Destiny – Thanksgiving and Cleansing
(1) Thanksgiving
“Let the name of the Lord be praised, both now and forevermore. From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the Lord is to be praised. The Lord is exalted over all the nations, his glory above the heavens.”
— Psalm 113:2–4 (NIV)
We thank the Lord that in this South Pacific “land of the rising sun,” He has granted abundant harvests, protected us from famine, tyranny and war, and enabled people of diverse ethnicities to live in harmony. We are grateful that the gospel can be freely proclaimed here, and that we can use our own languages and instruments to praise God, declaring His glory through songs of worship.

(2) Cleansing and Repentance
“It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.”
— 1 Corinthians 13:5–6 (NIV)
“‘In your anger do not sin’: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.”
— Ephesians 4:26–27 (NIV)
Lord, forgive us for responding to life’s frustrations or to the correction of others with anger and resentment. Forgive us for harboring grudges and keeping records of wrongs, which lead to harsh words, quarrels, and even violence. Forgive us for our unwillingness to forgive and to be gracious, allowing the enemy a foothold through our emotions and pride.

2. For the King and Those in Authority
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
— Proverbs 3:5–6 (NIV)
New Zealand’s Roads of National Significance (RoNS) program has been launched to accelerate the development of major transport corridors, supporting economic growth and regional development. Recently, Waka Kotahi (New Zealand Transport Agency) approved an additional NZ$675 million to advance the next phase of the plan.
Pray for the nation’s transport infrastructure and planning: that the Lord would grant wisdom and ability to the Transport Agency to steward government resources well, to build important transportation corridors with long-term benefits that improve people’s livelihoods.

(2) Prayer for the People of the Land – The Entertainment Industry
“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”
— 2 Corinthians 10:4–5 (NIV)
Much of today’s entertainment—popular music, anime, and video games—has become a tool of the enemy, subtly blurring moral boundaries and distorting values. It promotes idolatry, gender confusion, materialism, and vanity.
Behind the entertainment industry’s growing influence lies a real spiritual battle. Pray that God will awaken His people to realize we are on the battlefield—to stay alert, to intercede, and to resist the enemy’s schemes. Pray also for entertainment creators: that they would be filled with the Lord’s love and power to produce works that inspire hearts and bring light and hope.

(3) Prayer for the Church
“When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’”
— John 8:12 (NIV)
As Halloween approaches, pray that the Church will not befriend the world but instead influence communities by organizing Light Parties—events that attract children from the neighborhood to church, where their hearts may be drawn to the Lord and they may become children of God.

(4) Prayer for Israel and the Nations
1. For Israel
“Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear and celebrate his rule with trembling.”
— Psalm 2:10–11 (NIV)
Through recent Middle East peace agreements, Israeli hostages have been released, yet Hamas’s violence has not ceased, and conflicts continue to arise.
Pray that the nations will discern the true nature of Hamas and recognize that until Christ the Messiah returns to reign, no human peace treaty can bring perfect peace. May hearts turn to trust in God’s salvation. Pray that millions of Muslims and Jews across the Middle East will hear and receive the gospel.

2. For the Salvation of the Indian People
“And they sang a new song, saying: ‘You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.’”
— Revelation 5:9 (NIV)
Pray for the Indian people—both those living in India and those scattered around the world. May the Lord deliver them from idolatry, superstition, and the bondage of tradition, and bring them to know Jesus Christ as the one true God and Savior. Pray that God will send workers filled with truth, love, and power to reach them and lead them home to the Father, becoming a people who worship the living God.
