24/7 Watch Prayer(14.02.2021-20.02.2021)

——Intercession for the country

1. Enter into destiny – gratitude and self-cleansing

(1) Give thanks:

[Psalm 8:3-9]

When I consider your heavens,

the work of your fingers,

the moon and the stars,

which you have set in place,

what is mankind that you are mindful of them,

human beings that you care for them?

You have made them a little lower than the angels

and crowned them with glory and honor.

You made them rulers over the works of your hands;

you put everything under their[e] feet:

all flocks and herds,

and the animals of the wild,

the birds in the sky,

and the fish in the sea,

all that swim the paths of the seas.

Lord, our Lord,

how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Thank the Lord for taking care of us, His love for us is so gentle and complete. Please teach us how to stop and appreciate the beautiful things that You have made. Make us good stewards of the natural world that You have created.

(2) Self-cleaning and repentance:

[Deuteronomy 25:13-16] Do not have two differing weights in your bag—one heavy, one light. Do not have two differing measures in your house—one large, one small. You must have accurate and honest weights and measures, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you. For the Lord your God detests anyone who does these things, anyone who deals dishonestly.

The tourism industry has been severely hit by the pandemic. The Strategic Tourism Assets Protection Programme (STAPP), a tourism subsidy program provided by the government last year, is suspected of being unfair. Investigations are now underway.

Prayer: May the Lord grant fairness and justice in the government’s assessment and decision-making, so that small and medium-sized tourism companies can be protected. Pray also that the business owners of the tourism industry will have wisdom and God-fearing heart to protect and preserve the beautiful nature created by God.

2. For kings and those in positions of authority – education

[Leviticus 18:3-4] You must not do as they do in Egypt, where you used to live, and you must not do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you. Do not follow their practices. You must obey my laws and be careful to follow my decrees. I am the Lord your God.

Pray for New Zealand’s education system, the national curriculum and the campus atmosphere. Pray for the holy and righteous Lord to intervene with great power, exercise judgment and correct all curriculum content that does not conform to God’s will. Pray that the Lord will raise up more educators who love the Lord to enter elementary schools, middle schools, and university campuses, and bring God’s justice, truth, and holiness into every school in New Zealand.

——Intercede for the people of this land: for the persecuted Christians

[Revelation 3:8] I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.

[Revelation 3:10] Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth.

The “Open Doors” global watch list shows that 340 million Christians worldwide are facing major persecution.

Prayer: Pray for the persecuted members of Christ, asking God to strengthen their faith and help them in spiritual warfare to depend on the Lord’s strength. When they try to share their faith with their children, family or friends, pray for the Holy Spirit to lead them and prepare the right time and place so that they can safely share the gospel.

——Pray for the church

[1 John 3:17-18] If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

[Philippians 1:9] And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight

Pray for the Lord to let all of God’s people have a compassionate heart, so that when we see those around us in need, we have the ability and the will to help them with practical actions. Pray that the Lord will give us heavenly wisdom, so that our love will be more and more abundant in knowledge and various insights, and we will live out a beautiful testimony.

——Pray for Israel and the nations

1. Pray for Israel

[Ezekiel 18:30] “Therefore, you Israelites, I will judge each of you according to your own ways, declares the Sovereign Lord. Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall.

Due to the pandemic, Israel’s politics and society are in a state of turbulence. Pray for the Lord to reveal the pride and arrogance of the Israelis and the various transgressions that have offended God, for the people of Israel to accept that Jesus is the Lord Christ, and soon become a country that accepts the Christian faith.

2. Pray for Myanmar

【Ps 86:5~7】You, Lord, are forgiving and good,

abounding in love to all who call to you.

Hear my prayer, Lord;

listen to my cry for mercy.

When I am in distress, I call to you,

because you answer me.

On the 1st of February 2021, a military coup took place in Myanmar, and a one-year state of martial law was implemented. This may cause Myanmar to return to the bad conditions during the previous military dictatorship. Let us pray to the Lord for the security of Burma, and ask the Lord to show mercy to the people in this place, so that they can listen to the gospel, return to the true God, and restore stability to the political situation.

3. Pray for America

Psalm 86:5 You, Lord, are forgiving and good,

abounding in love to all who call to you.

The United States is accelerating the pace of coronavirus vaccination and about 10% of the population has received at least one dose of the vaccine. However it is still necessary to be vigilant to prevent the second wave of infection by the variant virus.

Prayer: May the Lord protect and help the American medical staff to have sufficient strength and grace in the diagnosis and treatment of coronavirus patients and administering vaccine injections.

Pray for God’s cleansing, restoration, reconstruction, healing and presence to come to the churches. And at the moment of political crisis and the impact of the epidemic, the American church will have a great awakening and revival.
